Clinical trials are a cornerstone of medical progress. They help develop new treatment options, further improve therapies, and yield insights for the future care of cancer patients. But what does participating in an oncology trial actually mean for those involved? What opportunities and conditions are involved, and what should patients be aware of? During the event, participants will gain a clear understanding of the importance of clinical trials and learn what participating in a trial can mean for their own treatment. Both potential benefits and important conditions will be explained.
The evening’s speakers are Konstanze Waldhaus, a specialist in oncology nursing and palliative care, and a registered nurse, as well as PD Dr. Eberhard Schneider, study coordinator and head of IT at the GPR Clinic.
Through the “Living with Cancer” event series, the GPR Health and Care Center in Rüsselsheim regularly offers those affected by cancer, their loved ones, and interested members of the public a space for information, discussion, and support. Professionals from the fields of medicine, nursing, and counseling provide information on various aspects of living with cancer and offer valuable practical advice.
