GPR Stroke Unit Successfully Recertified

The Stroke Unit at GPR Klinikum Rüsselsheim has once again been successfully certified. This means that the quality of stroke care at GPR Klinikum has been continuously confirmed by external audits for more than ten years. The initial certification took place in 2014, and since then, the Stroke Unit has been audited every three years. The current certificate is valid from August 18, 2026, through May 6, 2029.

Certification is based on the quality standard of the German Stroke Society (DSG) and the German Stroke Foundation. An audit once again confirmed that the requirements of the quality standard are being met. The Stroke Unit is certified as a regional stroke unit with six beds.

Rapid and coordinated care is crucial for the treatment of stroke patients. The Stroke Unit at GPR Klinikum therefore works closely with various medical and therapeutic departments. Certified departments and units include the emergency room, the cardiology and radiology departments, neurosurgery and vascular surgery, as well as the departments for cardiovascular diagnostics, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and social services.

“This recertification is an important endorsement of our entire team and our stroke care systems. It demonstrates that we meet the high standards required for specialized care,” explains Dr. Marcel Féchir, Chief Physician of the Stroke Unit.

This regular certification is more than just a formal review: it ensures that the established quality standards are consistently met. For patients, this means structured care tailored to the specific needs of stroke treatment.

“Reliable, high-quality medical care is one of the GPR Clinic’s core missions. The recertification of our Stroke Unit impressively demonstrates that we live up to this standard in the treatment of strokes as well. “I would like to thank all our employees who ensure this level of quality through their daily dedication and interdisciplinary collaboration,” emphasizes GPR Managing Director Achim Neyer.
