Five of the new trainees already have some practical experience: They previously completed the one-year training program to become nursing assistants and are now continuing on to the three-year program to become registered nurses. Five other trainees have already chosen the pediatrics specialization and will focus on caring for children and adolescents over the next three years.
Of the 35 trainees, 25 are women and 10 are men; their ages range from 16 to 37, which highlights the diversity and broad spectrum of future nursing professionals. Uwe Neumann (1st year of training), Bernhard Weisenfeld (2nd year of training), and Stella Richter (3rd year of training) will lead the new program. Together with the teaching staff, they will guide and instruct the trainees throughout their entire training.
“The GPR Vocational School for Nursing Professions stands for training at the highest level. Even under the challenging conditions in the healthcare sector, we consistently ensure the quality and capacity of our educational programs. This is particularly important given the tight labor market for nursing staff and demographic trends. We are proud to regularly recruit qualified young talent from within our own ranks for our hospital,” emphasized GPR Managing Director Achim Neyer.
