The study, conducted in collaboration with the renowned research institute MINQ, employs a multidimensional selection approach. Factors taken into account include independent research, expert recommendations, and regional reputation. Only physicians who demonstrate excellence across multiple evaluation criteria are included in the list of recommendations.
For Prof. Dr. Steiner, the award is also a recognition of the work of his entire team: “I am very pleased about this special honor. Especially in women’s health, it is important to provide our patients not only with a high level of professional expertise but also with a sense of security, trust, and personalized care. I therefore also see this award as recognition of the great dedication of our entire team.”
The Women’s Clinic at GPR Klinikum provides patients from Rüsselsheim and the entire region with a broad range of gynecological and surgical services. In addition to modern medical treatment, the focus is particularly on individualized patient care. The STERN study also emphasizes the importance of empathy and communication on an equal footing in regional healthcare.
“An award like this highlights the medical expertise we offer at the GPR Clinic even beyond our region. For us, it is an important sign that patients in Rüsselsheim and the surrounding area have access to high-quality gynecological care and proven medical expertise right here in our community,” said GPR Managing Director Achim Neyer.
In total, 2,572 physicians across 37 medical specialties were recognized as part of the STERN study. The complete results are available at www.stern.de/regionale-aerzte2026. An accompanying article on the study also appears in the current issue of STERN, No. 39/2026.
