Stefan Keller, deputy managing director of the GPR, warmly welcomed those in attendance, congratulated the graduates on their success, and opened the event. Since 1964, the technical school has been training qualified young professionals, thereby making an important contribution to ensuring patient care at the GPR Clinic. The certification in nursing assistance (KPH) has only been offered again for a few years; since then, 93 people have already been trained in this field. At the same time, he emphasized that good nursing care requires not only professional qualifications but also compassion, dedication, and a willingness to engage in lifelong learning. He encouraged the graduates to continue on their path of learning and development.
In his address, Director of Nursing Benno Schanz warmly congratulated the graduates on passing their exams and emphasized that their success was also the result of the joint efforts of everyone involved in their training. As nursing assistants, they are now an important part of the nursing team, providing valuable support in patient care and serving as a bridge between the various professional groups, patients, and their families.
After a few days of recovery from the stress of the exams, four of the successful graduates of the course will make a seamless transition into working life at the GPR Clinic or the GPR Senior Residence “Haus am Ostpark” as early as September 1. For three other successful candidates, the training continues, as they have already decided to proceed directly to the three-year nursing training program.
